Lake Bogoria National Reserve lies within Kenya’s Great Rift Valley in Baringo County, a shallow soda lake framed by steep escarpment walls. Its shoreline is dotted with steaming hot springs and geysers, among the most active geothermal sites anywhere in East Africa.
The reserve is best known for vast flocks of lesser flamingo that gather along the alkaline shallows, alongside one of Kenya’s largest populations of greater kudu on the surrounding slopes.
