12 Days Combined Kenya and Tanzania Safari

Your Ziwaland Holidays guide meets you at the airport or your hotel for breakfast and a full briefing on the programme. You then set off for the Maasai Mara, stopping at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and for lunch in Narok. A game drive on arrival gets the safari underway. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

A full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch. The reserve’s rolling grassland and extensive track network are what make it the most dependable big cat country in Kenya. Lunch is taken at Hippo Pool, watching for hippo and crocodile. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

An early morning balloon flight can be arranged at additional cost.

There is an optional Maasai village visit after breakfast, paid at the village. The drive then runs north to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for dinner and overnight at your lodge or hotel.

A morning game drive in the park, which protects both black and white rhino and also holds colobus monkey, leopard and Rothschild’s giraffe. Lunch is taken en route on the long drive south to Amboseli, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.

A full day of game drives with a picnic lunch. The park’s swamps stay wet year round on water off Kilimanjaro, which is why the elephants and hippo concentrate here; plains game, antelope and a heavy bird list use them too. The summit appears when the weather allows. Dinner and overnight at camp.

After breakfast the drive runs to Namanga with lunch on the way. Immigration formalities at the border, then on to Arusha, arriving during the day to check into your hotel.

After breakfast you set off for Lake Manyara with lunch en route, arriving for a game drive through the groundwater forest at the foot of the escarpment. The park is known for lions that climb into the acacia branches and for the flamingo flocks on its shallow soda lake. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or campsite.

You leave Manyara after breakfast, game viewing on the way and stopping for a picnic lunch. The route runs on across the plains near Seronera with further game viewing before you reach your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

A full day across the plains with picnic lunches carried with you. Lion, leopard and cheetah share this ground with spotted hyena and with smaller, more elusive predators such as the serval and the aardwolf. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or campsite.

A last morning game drive as you work your way east to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, lunch taken en route, arriving in the afternoon. The rim gives you the first view down onto the crater floor. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

The descent to the crater floor takes up the morning, across grassland, swamp and forest inside the caldera walls. Picnic lunch below, then the climb back to the rim and the drive on to Arusha for the night.

After breakfast you board the morning shuttle north, arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon for a drop at your hotel or the airport. If you are continuing to Zanzibar we can instead drop you at Arusha airport.
